Hapa Izakaya
A buddy of mine mentioned about going to this izakaya on Bathurst and College Street called Hapa Izakaya. He told me it was very popular in Vancouver and that they had recently expanded their name to Toronto. He also claimed that the owner only hires cute waitresses, so obviously being guys, we decided we had to go check it out. He also mentioned something about the food being good too. LOL we’ll get to that bit soon enough.
Since the place is located downtown and parking there is just so easy to find (NOT!), we met up at his place and took one car. While we were driving we decided it was probably a good idea we call ahead to make sure there were tables available. It was a good call, as the guy who picked up the phone told us that the place was pretty much fully booked. He did manage to find us a table for three.

Sushi!
I’ve decided to write a mini review on all my sushi places I’ve been to from All You Can Eat to regular A La Carte style. Over the past couple of years I’ve been to numerous Sushi restaurants, some great, some decent, some of them were pretty bad. This review is by no means organized from the best to worst, just the places that come into mind as I type this out.
Summerlicious 2012
Went to Summerlicious with the lovely August, whom I previously had worked with while working at a retail computer store. I no longer work there. I did not take pictures of the atmosphere, August did. The place does look very classy and the decorations were nice. We were situated in a small little table perfect for 2 people and right beside us were rocks and that Japanese fork like thing you find. Obviously August had to play with it at one point. :p
Summerlicious of choice was Kirei. Reason being, they served Creme Brulee and she does not really enjoy Western Style food. Since we both enjoy Japanese food (or just sushi in this case) this was the logical choice.
Kumai Sushi, Mississauga
Decided to write a little review about this place because it is one of the best sushi places I’ve been to so far.
Located on Brunel Road, Mississauga it is at the corner of Brunel and Hurontario just south of Hwy 401. O think I’ve been there a total of 4-5 times now over the past year and so far the food there has always been consistently fresh and delicious.
Ginza North York…
Went to Ginza with some co-workers after work today. Yes another Japanese restaurant… but not an All You Can Eat place. so this is a different experience.
We decided on the Set Dinner for 4 people for $70 dollars total. Split that between 3 people it came to about $30 per person. We also tried to order O Toro Sashimi there for about $15 for 3 pieces. The server told us it would take about 20 mins to prepare but we didn’t mind since we still had the set dinner. We were later told that the O Toro Sashimi was not fresh and asked if we wanted to cancel it or not.. We opt to listen to the server’s advice and cancelled the order.
