Last Monday I went to Kirei Sushi again with a friend. This time it was not their Summerlicious menu.
When we got there, the place was somewhat empty. There were a couple tables filled with people but the rest were empty. I guess this is not surprising since it was a Monday night 7pm ish Downtown Toronto at a Sushi Bar? Oh well, better for us since we did not have to wait for a table. Maybe this place is not as well known, but it sure is a pretty good place to have fresh sushi. 🙂
There were Salmon, Red Tuna, Butterfish, Shrinp, Lobster Salad Roll, Fried Eel, Uni, I think Shrimp Tempura Roll. I dont remember the other 2 fish that were there. LOL. I think Mackerel and Yellow Tail?
I also got Beef Sashimi and Yam Tempura. (Oops forgot to take a picture of the Yam Tempura, but you know how it looks like)
I don’t know if they were doing some special that day or they were just feeling generous. But while we were eating they walked up and gave us Teriyaki Salmon on the house.
Unfortunately we underestimated the amount of food we had ordered so we couldn’t even start the salmon. I brought it home and gave it to my mom since she loves eating Salmon. She said it was good, so I’ll take her word for it.
Overall experience was about the same as last time. So it’s good to know they have consistency with that. The atmosphere is nice and the food is great. I wanted to order the Blue Fin Tuma again but decided against it due to cost. Maybe next time when I return to the place. They also serve Korean food besides Sushi, but we opt to stick with the Japanese side of their menu.
Kirei is only 1 of a handful of Japanese restaurants I have tried in the Downtown core region, but so far it’s ranked among the top overall. 🙂 I would recommend this place to people who are seeking out a good sushi place downtown. And the price is somewhat on the affordable side. They also have pretty cute waitresses… Just felt like throwing that out there.
